A Promise With An Oath
Hebrews 6:13 - God made a promise to Abraham and there is no one greater than God, so he made the promise with an oath in his own name. God always fulfill the promise with an oath. God trust a promise that has an oath and He also honours the promise with an oath. An oath that he made to Abraham was an indication that He would do what he promised. God has made a promise to us that He will bless us. All we need to do is to trust that He will surely bless us. Verse 14 - He said, 'I will surely bless you. I will give you many descendants.' Abraham waited patiently for this to happen and later he received what God promised. For God to bless you, you must wait patiently unto his promises. People always use the name of someone greater than themselves to make a promise with an oath. Because an oath proves that what you say is true, and that there is no more arguing about it.
