AMBITIOUS, EMPOWERING AND HARD-WORKING - NTJEZIRO MOSIMA (21)

There is nothing as soul refreshing and mind cooling as seeing young women in our continent, Africa, taking responsibility for their own lives. We can never stop preaching women empowerment because that will be the end of women realizing the power that they possess. 

We were proud and quite inspired when we saw Ntjeziro Mosima from Modimolle making it to Top 5 of Miss Township SA recently. Young as she is, she was the only one who came from Limpopo province and we knew then that she deserved to be covered. 

Although she didn't win the title, she said that will not end her beauty pageant journey. The 21 year old describes herself as an ambitious, empowering and hard-working young woman. "My journey does not end here. I would love to see myself being crowned Miss SA in the near future," she said.

"It is also an empowerment program that equips contestants with skills that we can use to improve our lives and that of our communities." 

The Miss and Mrs Township SA is a new brand and Ntjeziro and others were the first Class to enter. She told us that the reason she entered for this pageant was that Miss and Mrs Township South Africa is a beauty pageant for young women residing in the township. "It is also an empowerment program that equips contestants with skills that we can use to improve our lives and that of our communities. The acquired skills include entrepreneurship ,mentoring and communication," she added.

"Firstly, I wanted to grow as a beauty pageant queen, because this was not my 1st beauty pageant. I have been entering beauty pageants from the age of 16.     

Secondly, I wanted to inspire and be a      

reflection to all the young ladies that if a girl from the Township can dream it, they can too," she continued.


Ntjeziro said her Miss Township SA journey has been amazing and she was revealed as Miss Township SA Top 5 .


"Expect to see more from me in the near future. I want to contribute to young women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship. With the current youth unemployment rate and economic growth, I would love to see young women taking the lead and breaking the chain of poverty by building a large community of young female entrepreneurs," Ntjeziro said.
