  CHRISTMAS DAY: THE DAY OF EXCHANGING GIFTS Phomolo Rapau C hristmas is a beautiful day to celebrate the birth of Christ by giving out gifts to others.  Giving gifts to each other especially on Christmas day is practicing what happened on the day that Christ was born where three wise men presented gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. When is Christmas celebrated? 25 December is a day when Christmas is celebrated according to the Western Calendar and churches. Although the month and date of the birth of Christ are unknown but the churches in the fourth century fixed the date as December 25 which corresponds to the date of the winter solstice on the Roman calendar.  EVENT: OVERCOMING EMOTIONAL & MENTAL CHALLENGES  Boinette Mittah Selokela hosts an event under the theme: Mental and Emotional well-being. The event aims to empower young people who are heavily burdened.  Being in a dark area of life and thinking that no one sees you or cares for you can worsen one's situation and end up being hopeless. That's according to Boinette Mittah Selokela (28) from Modimolle who will be hosting an event that aims to mentally and emotionally empower those who are internally broken. PaulDave FOUNDATION DONATES 30 PAIRS OF SHOES TO PHAGAMENG LEARNERS Founder of PaulDave Foundation Karabo Mokgosi (in a denim tee/red dress), along with the staff and Principal of Dagbreek Primary School.  The 26 year old Founder of PaulDave Foundation, Karabo Mokgosi has donated at least 30 pairs of school shoes to Dagbreek Primary School learners in Phagameng, Modimolle.  Mokgosi said that this was something they had initiated few years back but due to unfortunate circumstances they kind of stopped.  "We just wanted to get back into our giving spirit especially with the knowledge of how things have changed. Covid-19 has made a huge impact in people’s lives, some parents lost jobs, others their salaries got cut so we just wanted to help out with the little we could,"she said.  When asked what the Foundation wants to achieve by this kind of gesture, Mokgosi responded that they wanted to,"make things a bit easier for the parents when coming to the children’s uniform b...

FORMER LEARNER & TEACHER TELL THE IMPORTANCE OF A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP IN SCHOOL  "Most learners who have a healthy relationship with their educators tend to be happy, free and excel in their school work," says Mam Thaba.  Palesa Precious Maluleke with one of her favourite teachers, Mam Thaba MW.  Establishing a positive relationship between learners and educators helps a learner feel more comfortable and safe in their classroom environment.
