Protecting the church

Ephesians 4:3 says: "You are joined together with peace through the spirit, so make every effort to continue together in this way."

It is our responsibility to protect the unity of the church. Unity in the church is very  important. Luke 11:17 states that: "Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed.

The new testament gives more attention to it than to either heaven or hell. Unity is the soul of fellowship. You destroy it(unity), you rip the heart out of Christ 's body. God enjoys watching his children getting along with each other.

Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than his church because He paid the highest price for it. If you are part of God's family, it is your responsibility to protect the unity where you fellowship. We must always promote harmony in our church families and amongst believers.

We must focus on what we have in common than our differences. Paul tell us;"Let us concetrate on the things which make for harmony, and on the growth of one another's character." As believers we share one God, Body, Purpose, Father, Spirit, Hope, Faith, Baptism and one Love. God wants unity, not uniformity.

For the sake of unity, we must never let our differences to divide us. Conflict is usually a sign that focus has shifted to less important issues. When we focus on personalities, preferences and interpretations division always occurs. But if we concentrate on loving each other and fulfilling God's purpose the results is harmony so there won't be division in churches.

Let us always be one mind, united in thought and purpose.

We must passionately love our churches in spite of its imperfections. Other believers will dissappoint you but that's not an excuse to stop fellowshiping with them. The bible tells us to be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because we were sinners, we hurt each other sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally.

But instead of leaving the church, we need to stay and work it out. Reconciliation is a road to stronger charcter and deeper fellowship. There is no perfect church to escape to. Every church has its own set of weaknesses and problems.

Stay Blessed!!!
