Making Boss Moves!!!!!

Fiona Bopape

Growing up, I always acted older than my age. There was a point in high school where girls in college would call me “Miss Mature”. I am just going to jump right into this topic without any introduction of what making boss moves is.
Having to complete matric I knew that to maintain the life I was living I had to work hard because I loved money. There I was at the corners of the streets promoting different products in the blazing sun, other times I was in stores while my peers were in class, I was hustling.
I went to school and had a part time job to afford my clubbing lifestyle and take-aways. Making money became such a norm for me that even at school I was able to buy myself text books and clothes. I also enjoyed the fact that I had some responsibility like paying my accounts on time.
So what is making boss moves? While I was in the blazing sun some made a mockery out of me but at the back of my head I thought of all the money and experience I was getting. I also worked at edcon where I had to open accounts and those were the best years of my life because we were trained that one should look the part, one should smell like a million bucks, one should have confidence to face anyone that walks into the store and lastly to address yourself as a boss!! Believe it!! Act it!! And be one!!
Short as I am I approached very tall muscular men and women that I thought  were strict. I wore like boss and handled my affairs as such, 'Boss Lady' is how people at work would refer to me.
We were trained to negotiate, to see each person as a sale and that time is money, to cut the long story short, I was not driving a BMW nor am I driving it now but the fact that I juggled school and work till this very day is a boss move!!!
Listen here, even in relationships I attracted the right guys that had money and goals. Although they were not rich but financially stable, I could also return the favour by taking my partner out for lunch and movies or even a few gifts here and there because I was boss like that. I met a lovely young girl called Mosima Ramoriba a couple of days ago as she held a tray of food and looked like a boss. She approached me with confidence and told me about the food she was selling I was taken away by her aura and the way she carried herself mostly by the way she did not care about her selling in the blazing sun.

As a woman I learned that a hustle is a hustle and I will forever applaud hard work when I see it. I asked Mosima to join me for a chat and little did she know that I was inspired by the sweat on her forehead, during our conversation she explained to me that the need to feed her daughter motivates her to go against all odds. Mosima is one of many young women that create their own opportunities and make boss moves because she has a mouth to feed.
Making boss moves does not mean have a blesser, it means not slowing down. We need to keep on moving and pushing, it means waking up in the early morning and sleeping exhausted in the late hours at night. BOSS MOVES IS MAKING YOUR OWN MONEY!!!! Weather R500 to thousands, fact remains that you are chasing that paper and securing the bag!
